Title: administration task: report updates ?

In Cognos 10.2.1:
In the "Administration" portal > "Security" tab > "Capabilities" menu: we have an "Administration" capability, which contains a "Administrative tasks" sub-capability. This capability is used for the following tasks: "Define exports, imports, index updates, consistency checks and report updates". Could someone shed some light what the "report updates" task is? I am not able to find any material on it online or in the "Administration and Security guide". I am doubting that it actually affects the updating of a report created in Report studio.
