Title: indexing not progressing

Hi guys,

I've just started to use Cognos and I'm using 10.1.1.

I am trying to do indexing, and went to Cognos Administration page, and created a few test indexes.

I executed the indexes but they never managed to finish or show new update in "View run history details" even after a 10 mins wait.

While creating the few indexes, I went to Cognos Administration -> Index Search -> General and adjusted the Indexable Types between just 1 type and all but XML related ones. The first test index was done with all but XML related Indexable Types. It ran for about 20 hours, but the last update in status was around the time it started.

The indexes never managed to complete. During execution, the progress could even be showing "Indexing status 100%. Completed 0 of 0 tasks". What's more, the Completion Time was not available during execution. I was not sure if the indexing was still in progress or simply hung.

My questions are:
1) Am I missing out any step here?
2) Should I just be patient and try indexing just one Indexable Type and wait for its completion?

To add on, on the status page, when I clicked on "Show Details", the details below showed up.

Dispatcher: Unavailable.
Process ID: Unknown.

Does it mean the indexing jobs that are still in execution status may not be running at all?

Pls, I need help on this.
