Hello,
I am wondering, has any of you used AngularJS in Report Studio? I wonder if it's possible to use it in there.
Thanks for your reply in advance.
Teena
No, but why would you want to? What are you trying to accomplish?
The problem with using javascript in general is that apart from the Prompt API, it is unsupported and things can break across versions.
Hi Pdbits,
I have client requirement who wants to incorporate Angular Tree demo (one of the tree examples) in developing the cognos reports for filtering.
I couldn't find any blog about this nor any documentation about AngularJS working in Report Studio so I do not have any information to back it up why I cannot use it in report studio.
Please help.
Thanks,
Teena
Your client is either ignorant or being unreasonable. There is already a built-in, out-of-the-box tree control for prompted filtering that looks different than the angular one but looks to be just as functional (from what little I know of angular).
Cognos is not a development platform (though you can tweak it a *lot*) and should not be used as such. It is for reporting and analytics. While you might be able to get angular tree controls to filter your Cognos report, I could not more strongly recommend against it.
As the saying goes: Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
P.S. You probably cannot find any information because nobody does that. Should be a big hint right there.
