I got stuck in one report from long. I have created one report with mutiple pages (5 pages), user wants report in excel.
For this I am using same query each time, with some dataitem filters for other pages.
what I did I used main query as reference for other pages query. and enable use local cache property. But atill my report is taking long time to execute in excel. But when I run one page it is working fine or when I check tabulr data for any query that alos working fine . So basically issue is with multiple page.
Basically, I am using not null filter for one dataitem in each page for that only I am using main query as reference. Anybody know any solution on this. Any other way so that I can get my report in excel in appropriate time.

I posted something similar a few weeks ago with my attempts to have Cognos re-use one query for multiple pages.
In my research I found, this is only possible when using a table (For reference see: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21342695)
If you are using a crosstab, even with the same information with some presentation differences - Cognos will always need to have a separate ping to the DB. Nature of the beast....
Are all your queries are populating tabular data (IN EXCEL)? This will help you narrow down why rendering is taking so long. I emphasize in excel because if you run HTML, you may have an error later in the table and not know it.
