Title: Cognos does not send traffic after "SSL Encryption enabled" set to true
Post by: Phenix on 14 Nov 2016 06:37:01 AM
Hi all,

the subject should be more or less self-explaining:
I want to use SSL for the Content Store Database connection. As long as the "SSL Encrpytion Enabled" parameter is set to false, I can try testing the connection and some traffic is sent out (of course it fails to connect). I checked traffic using tcpdump. If I set the "SSL Encryption Enabled" parameter to true, nothing is sent across the wire. Do you have an explanation for this?
It seems this is a very rare problem as I was not able to find ANYTHING in the internet. Thanks in advance.

[Edit]
Oh, the system:
OS: RHEL 7.2
Cognos: 10 with latest fixpack installed
Cognos deployed on WebSphere (not liberty)
