Title: Cubeswap with SSO??
Post by: Arsenal on 13 Nov 2007 04:25:11 PM
Hi guys,

we have an SSO enabled Cognos here.

Now, cubeswap documentation, indequate at best, says that the script needs to be appended with a l/p that has admin privileges

Now, is this Cognos Admin or Admin on the Unix box? Besides, with SSO it becomes hard to create a user in the LDAP, and thereon give the dummy user admin status on Cognos, without such a user actually existing. Is there any workaround to this?

Any hints on using cubeswap? Pretty new to cubeswap :(

Hi,

You need Cognos 8 Content Admin privileges in order to modify the data source to point to the new cube file.  I think that's what the docs are referring to here.

Regards,

MF.

mfgf, thanks for your reply.

We haven't started work on it yet, but something tells me that we have a long road to travel on as far as cubeswap goes :(

Cubeswap is pretty simple.  It's basically an SDK app which changes the properties of a datasource connection to point to a different cube file.

Run cubeswap without any parameters to determine what's necessary.
