Title: To Suppress the last level in Dimension
Post by: cognos_dev on 13 Nov 2007 08:18:37 AM
Hi All,

Is there any way I can suppress the last level in my dimension so that users dont drill down to the most detailed level in the hierarchy. For e.g.,
I have multiple data sources. 1 - Dim (REGION) and 1 - Fact (SALES) joined on Customer ID column in query.
I have the REGION dimension levels like Country, State, City, Customer ID. Since there is Customer ID as my last level and its of no use showing it, is there any way I can suppress it? If I get in Customer Id as source and Label as CITY, there are repeating CITIES which I dont want to show as repeated. For e.g., New York City is there for many Customer IDs and its shown for every Customer ID. But I need to show New York only once and somehow suppress Customer ID level beneath it.

REGION
Country
State
City
Customer ID - (to be suppressed) - which is linked to Fact

Please help

I'm not sure I'm understanding the problem.

In Transformer can't you just click the Customer ID "field" and press delete to remove it from the dimension map?

If it was put there automatically by the wizard and you don't want it then just highlight and delete it.
