Hi,

I believe IBM have a specific document for this, and offer it as a free service if you ask. Because of the complexity and the implications of entering incorrect responses, the final step to generate the server spec is password protected, and they only distribute the password to people who have been trained in server sizing. Put a call in to your IBM account manager to see if they can help.

Cheers!

MF.

Hi,

A good starting point is reading up on Capacity Planning:
https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSEP7J_10.1.1/com.ibm.swg.ba.cognos.crn_arch.10.1.1.doc/c_arch_capacityplanning.html

You will also want to look at the performance tuning section, as it explains how to set the number of processes for each Cognos service, during peak and non peak hours.

I also second MF's statements. IBM can provide you with a capacity planning questionnaire.
