As you know, by nature, there are no column headers on Crosstab rows other than for the measures.
I have 7 Crosstab levels (rows) and I am trying to add Header titles that are aligned with the Crosstab columns
I've attached an example using Go Sales and Retailers of what it is supposed to look like.
The 2 green boxes are the column titles that describe the data in the nested rows. The Column Titles should be underneath the Crosstab corner and the same length as the column its describing.
I have used a crosstab space an inserted a table within the space and also added a crosstab space with text, but both options do not align with the columns.
The solution given on Cognos support site does not align the Titles with the length of the actual column.
Is this possible? Any ideas?
Thanks in advance. I'm sure this will be very userful for many peopel as column titles is an expected need.

I would consider a title table for the row levels within the Crosstab Corner.
1). Unlock the report
2). Drag a Block inside the Corner
3). Drag the measure text item into the block
4). Set the block's bottom padding to 5 px (gives a nice space between this and the new titles)
5). Insert a 2 column, 1 row table beneath the Block, within the Crosstab Corner
6). Insert text items in each column per your row levels
7). Select the Outer Row edge and the left cell in the new title table.
8). In Sixe and Overflow, set the width to something... I used 150 px
9). Repeat width setting for both the inner row edge and rightmost cell in title table
This should give the desired look. See attached.
