Title: Missing Values in Value Prompt
Post by: ipmurali on 28 Oct 2007 05:46:55 AM
Hi,
One of my reports having a Value Prompt for department. there are 31 departments showing in the drowdown list when i am running the report. But when i am creating a job for this report and trying to set the prompt value, then it is showing only 24 departments in the dropdown list, moreover some value names are changed also. Why this any idea? ???

thanks ...
murali.

Values for the values prompt should be coming from a query that you define off a dimension query subject from your Model.  There is a good chance that yours are defined directly off the Fact query that drives the report.

If you query the Dimension, you will have better response and get all values
If you query the Fact, you will have bad response and get only values that are in the fact.

Now, with that, go back and look at the design of your report and see which method you are using.  If your Prompt Controls are "In-Line" (on the report page itself) then the shortened list you see when setting up the job indicates to me that you are seeing a list generated off the Fact.  If this is the case, you will need to add a Prompt Page for your job setup.
