Does anyone have any new tuning tips that are not in the standard Cognos documentation?

the best tuning tip out there is don't let any crappy long running reports make into your production environment.... each report should be properly tested and the underlying sql verified by yourself or if you cannot do that your dba. Setup logging and create yourself a report that shows you any long running reports and start there.

As far as servers goes in my experience memory is cheap just buy loads, more memory equals more bibuses. The Cognos recommendation of 2 bibuses per cpu for me personally isn't that accurate. If you have a box with 4 cpus and only 4GB memory they you cannot really run 8 bibusses (well that my experience anyway).

that just my two cents use it dont use it....
