Title: Change Default Value for All Reports
Post by: sumesh2429 on 02 Jun 2016 09:05:40 AM
Hi ,

In Report Properties under Cognos Connection , if we go to Report Tab , the default Action is always "View Most Recent Report". Is there any way in Cognos Administration where we can keep this option to default values as  "Run the Report" .
I want this to done for all the reports and hence don't want to individually go to the properties of each report & change it since we have more than 300 Reports.

MetaManager from Avnet BSP Software has a module called Object Editor which can apply those changes in bulk and also be automated to keep the settings the way you want them. You can get a download to try from http://www.bspsoftware.com/products/metamanager/Download/.

Hello -

This is a great question that Avnet BSP Software solves all the time with it's MetaManager product.  I am not aware of a way to currently accomplish this in bulk through Cognos Administration.  In MetaManager's Object Editor Module you can drag all 300 reports to the grid area and select the default option and update all 300 reports in 1 click of a button.
If you are looking to do any bulk updating or finding yourself doing a task in IBM Cognos that takes multiple clicks, MetaManager can probably save you hours and hours of time each week.

I am using a 'base report' with correct settings, and create new reports from it.

This doesn't help for existing reports though.
