I have created a new portal tab which contains two reports.
Now - how do I make this portal tab a) available to all users and b) set as the default tab for all users.
I know I could manually add the portal tab to each user but since there are 100+ users I want to know if there is a neater way of doing this.
Two ways:
The One I have been using is the SDK. There is a knowledge base document showing how this can be achieved. I believe the key words were portal tabs and sdk.
The Second one which I've only seen in documentation is to set that portal tab as a default profile tab. Then you set your security on it. This means that every user will have that tab by default -- either working or with the little caution sign. With some modifications to the Cognos Skin applied, you can achieve a seemless security set up. I believe that this too can be found in the Knowledge base. I think the only problem with option two is that users can delete the portal tab and it is gone until they readd it.
With the SDK I force the portal tab back to their profile every night.
