Hi...we have a request to edit the Cognos pointer file: mdc file, so that it can point to a new stand by Analysis server ( SQL2000). Since we don't have the PowerPlay Connector program installed, we modified the data string directly via Notepad, but it says the Datastring is invalid when run in Powerplay.

Is there any other way to modify the data string for a mdc file rather than using PowerPlay Connector?

P.S. where can I  download the Powerplay connector if we have to?
