Hi to everybody.
I've a prospect customer that has impemented a DataWarehouse based on a product named HBT YOUCUBES
(http://www.youcubes.it/en/)
This tool is an ETL tool that interfaces several d/b (in this case MS SQL Server) and creates "cubes" on which it's possible to apply BI tool, Excel etc. In this case the customer is using excel as user front/end.
They were fashinating by Cognos BI capabiities and they asked if it's possible to access HBT YOUCUBES as "source" of data.
In the possible Cognos "data source" obviously YOUCUBES is not mentioned, so does anyone had experience with it ?

It will depend on what kind of object youcubes uses to store the data in. It needs to store the 'cube' somewhere. It could be using a database or a flat file or anything. A good way to start would be to find out how EXCEL is being used as the front end. How does EXCEL connect to youcubes? What is it connecting to? Considering the fact that EXCEL can connect to it chances are it is using some popular database so Cognos might also be able to.
