Title: Crosstabs question

Hi,

I have questions regarding crosstabs to make my report. Could you please take a look at the attachments? and please help.

I am not sure if i am doing this right or wrong.

I think your measures do not have an aggregate property specified. Change the aggregate property to specified and drag them in on the rows as you did at first. What you should see are the names of the measures in the rows and the values within the intersection of department and metric name.

I wonder if there is any book i can start with for learning Cognos. Do you have any recommendation?

You can play around with data format properties, such as patterns. Can't you just align your format to the left?
But if you are happy to what you have right now, you can incorporate an if or case statement for your crosstab.

The user guides are a good place to begin along with any best practice documents published by IBM online. I'm not familiar with any third party books.
