Title: Row Level Security in Report Studio
Post by: acabugason on 05 Oct 2007 10:51:13 AM
Hi all -

I have a requirement to provide row-level security to a report. I've tried a number of things in Framework Manager as well as Report Studio but can't seem to get it going.

I know row-level security can be achieved using a third party security software such as LDAP but unfortunately, we don't have that. Currently, I am experimenting with both a DMR and a cube as my sources.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Hi,

Row-level security is normally implemented by adding security filters to objects in Framework Manager.  Have you tried this?

Regards,

MF.

1). In FM, locate the Query Subject you wish to filter, and click to select it.
2). Click the Actions menu and select "Specify Data Security"
3). Add Filters as needed.

Generally, you will utilize information that is available in the session parameters for the Authenticated User.  In Security Filter's expression dialog, you have access to the available parameters.
