Title: Connection between informatica and cognos

Could you please tell me what is exact connection between cognos and informatica when reports in cognos are triggered by informatica workflow and reports will not generate if informatica flow is failed .what is exact reason?

For me it seems like trigger based scheduling has been enbabled for ur reports. You might check with ur admin for more details. Please check below link for trigger based scheduling in cognos.

When the INFA workflow completes you setup a process to call the trigger.bat with the corresponding Cognos job's trigger name

OK, I'll take a stab at your question. :) 

Informatica is an ETL tool, which means it reads your data sources and updates your data warehouse. It appears that in your organization, if the ETL (Informatica workflow) fails and thus the data has not been successfully updated, they do not want the reports to run.

Yup, you would not want to see a report with outdated/wrong values right?
