Title: Need Help!!! Error: QE-DEF-0285 The logon failed.

Please kindly help!!!

I used to be able to connect between DB2 database and Cognos express 10.1.2.
However, after reinstall Cognos express, this error occur while creating connection.

What do I need to do to allow DB2 to connect with Cognos express?

Hi,

Did you also reinstall the DB2 native client at the same time as Express? The error message includes

[IBM][CLI Driver] SQL1042C An unexpected system error occurred. SQLSTATE=58004

This seems to indicate there is an issue with the "bitness" of the DB2 client libraries you are using. You need to be using the 32-bit libraries to be able to connect from Cognos Express.
