Just want to see if there is any solution for this.
Recently my company upgraded Cognos report from 8 to 10. By doing so, we lost the option for generating the excel single sheet.
Now, every time when i generate the report, it is separated into multiple tabs /sheets. How can i combine those tabs as one tab? Is there any thing i can do?

Can I do this settings in report studio? I dont think i have right for IBM Cognos Administration.

I don't think it's possible in Report Studio. It has to be done only in Cognos Administration and once it is done, it will apply to all reports . Maybe someone else knows another way to achieve this and would post here.

Cognos 10 doesn't support the output of excel single sheet anymore.

I tried but it still didnt work out. The report still broke into multiple tabs.
In the report, I have group for "Organization" item and it breaks into tabs according to it.
However, it works in Cognos 8. Please help!
you sure your report has only in 1 page? if it the report formatted in several pages, cognos has no choice but to break it to several tabs.

Did you mention this in your original post ? Your post led everyone to believe that it was only an upgrade issue.
If the report has a Page Set grouped by Organization then it will definitely put it in separate tabs. Did you check if it has a Page Set which is grouped or just a grouping in a Container ? Did you check if the report in version 8 is exactly the same as in 10 or something changed during the upgrade process. Which version of 10 is it?

Or is it a massive data dump that is getting split at each 65k row interval?

Yes, my report has Page Set grouped by Organization. and report in version 8 (we also have Page Set grouped by Organization) is exactly the same as in version 10.2. We didnt change anything after upgrade.
In Cognos 8, there was an export --> run report - excel (single sheet). We had no problem to export the sheet excel file.
In Cognos 10.2, there is no excel (single sheet) option to choose. Hence, it breaks into multiple tabs. Of course, i can remove "Page Set grouped by Organization" , but the format is weird.
I am just hoping there is a way to work around. Also my total data is only about 17K rows.

A page set is going to break the output into tabs when run to Excel. If you can elaborate on what is weird about the format then you might get further advice on how to work around it.

What i meant is if Cognos 10 doesnt support single sheet for excel export, then there is no work around on that?
My ultimate goal is to generate the single sheet excel report like i did in Cognos 8.

You will have to remove the page set. As I said in my last post, explain why that is a problem and you may get further assistance.
