Great Job Jeroen !!!

I had done a couple of videos using Snagit and am embarassed to say that it does not compare in any way with your slick production values.

Is Camtasia studio freeware?

I would love to see more. They are very helpful in many ways.

Maybe a little something on how to create a simple report in RS or QS and then fix it so other users can use it as well? Or, something on tabular sets and a good use for them?

I'd suggest something on setting up conditional formatting for, say, a traffic light report or highlighting. If you have a spare couple of days ;-)

Great tutorials!

It's already in there...
Look at the percentage bars. Imagine them rotated 90 degrees  ...
Bar responds to percentage value.... only there are 11 posible "traffic light combinations"  instead of 3

Thanks for the tutorial, I appreciate your efforts, they will benefit a lot of CRN users.Ã,  I did have some trouble as my browser could not contain all of the tutorial frame without scrolling.Ã,  Is there a browser setting or screen resolution I need to adjust for optimal viewing?

Thanks again!

How to create a report that contains 3 pages, and these 3 pages should be repeated for every project?
Olha
Title: Re: Who's in for some animated tutorials?
Post by: sir_jeroen on 22 Sep 2005 09:44:51 AM
screen resolution = 1024x768

Upcoming tutorials:
1. Master-Detail
2. Report containing 3 pages, and these 3 pages should be repeated for every project? << Have to look in to it..

Btw.
If you have a request. Formulate it using the "Go Sales" package supplied with your CRN-installation, that would be a great help for me :D

How to create, in FM, 3 tables. 1 fact and 2 dimensions with one of them conformed or both.
Then create a report to show variance between 1 total and another total..

lol.. sorry.. I am having real issues getting variance to work between 2 fact tables  and have try numerous ways to do it but none of them are good

Is it a FM matter of a ReportStudio matter?  :p

Title: Re: Who's in for some animated tutorials?
Post by: CoginAustin on 23 Sep 2005 06:15:50 PM
That is a very good question..lol

I can get it to work in RS if I add a calculated field.

I can't seem to get it to work by adding a calculated field in FM and using it in a list report. It always gives me the error "illogical multiple fact table". So I guess FM? I wanted the calculation done so it would be available to users to use without having to do it themselves.

I think I wouldn't try to solve it FM, I would do it in RS....
But did you put the calculation in the conformed dimension or somewhere else?

btw...
I think it's time to start a new topic, because i think this ain't the right topic to discuss this.

I have a Budget fact table and an Actual fact table for Financials

They share some conformed dimension like Time, Business Unit

Each fact table has an Amount. I am try to get this type of list report:

January $budgetamount $actualamount $variance $percent_variance

For some reason adding the calculation to FM does not seem to work and breaks everything. (Atleast the way I am doing it break everything)

I posted this question here:

Jeroen -

Your tutorials are EXCELLENT!Ã,

I would (and already have) recommend them highly to anyone who's learning CRN.

I especially like the way you show things in stages - showing what the report looks like at one point, then adding to it to make it look better.

Your efforts are greatly appreciated, so.....Ã,  Ã,

Great Tut. Do you have one or able to tell me how  to attach a image to an asset catalogue report (say office furniture)that shows a picture of each item within the report. Eg. row one: asset name, description, procurement code etc and then a image of the asset.
