Title: Upgrading Cognos links from HTTP to HTTPS
Post by: GeethaKL on 19 Oct 2015 09:45:28 PM
Hi All,

We are planning to upgrade Cognos links (http://staging:19300/p2pd/servlet/dispatch) from http to Https (a more secured).
My company asked me to make a research on this and come up with a checklist.

Can anyone advise me what are the things I need to consider before planning an upgrade and provide me a checklist
that gives a step and step guide to go through this successfully.

Thank for your time

Regards
Geetha

Hi,

It's all right there in the Installation and Configuration Guide. Chapter 9 Configuration Options > Configuring the SSL protocol for IBM Cognos components on page 262

http://public.dhe.ibm.com/software/data/cognos/documentation/docs/en/10.2.2/inst_cr_winux.pdf

Your port 19300 will need to change, for example :443 is the default secure port. If you are using Windows Firewall you need to check that the Port is open.

The Gateway in your Cognos Configuration needs to be https but typically the other items like the dispatchers don't.
