Hi all,
we recently upgraded our Cognos installation from the Express version to the Enterprise 10.2.2 (latest patch).
My question is: as "new Enterprise customer", is it possible for us to use transformer or we only have the Power Cubes way to do some OLAP?

Hi,

The important question is whether your license has changed. Are you still using Express licensing or have you traded the Express licenses up to be Enterprise licenses (at cost)?

If you are using Express licensing, you cannot use Transformer. You can use existing PowerCubes as data sources, but you can't use Transformer 10.2.2 to create or amend them.
If you are now using full Enterprise licensing, you can use Transformer (provided your user license is Analytics Explorer or above [ie Analytics Administrator, Forward Looking Analytics Architect]).

It's important to check which you have. The recent Express update to v10.2.2 means you install the Enterprise versions of BI and TM1, but if you still have Express licenses they do not permit use of Transformer, Query Studio, Analysis Studio, Dynamic Cubes etc, even though these exist within the product.

I'm going to make a check but I'm pretty sure that we now have Enterprise licences.

What about the support? Is Transformer still fully supported by IBM in 10.2.2?
