Probably means your IQD file isn't valid. What data source name does it point to? What does the SQL query look like? Does the data source name resolve to an entry in cs7g.ini? What does the data source definition in cs7g.ini look like?

That error appears to be related to the defined data source. You really have not provided much information.

Also, is there a reason you need to use IQD files for a new model in v10? It's a rather old method that I think is mainly supported for backwards compatability. In my opinion, if this is against a database, you'd be better off creating a package and pulling that in. But maybe that's just me.

Also, for using an IQD as a Data Source, you will need to insert some commands in the cognos.ini file so that it will know how to reach the database. That's how we used to do it till the last time we did it using a IQD which was years ago. I also remember that the newer versions do not install cognos.ini so that has to be created in Notepad.

As bdbits suggested, why don't you just use a package or a report. Is it an existing cube which was created using IQD or did you make a copy of an existing model to make a new model and that existing model was using IQD?

Ah, no. It's not Cognos.ini any more - these days it's cs7g.ini. That changed a while ago, and as this is posted in the Cognos 10 Transformer section I'm assuming it's that version, not an earlier one that uses Cognos.ini.

I asked CNSLT lots of questions about the data source, the SQL, the cs7g.ini file etc, but the only reply we got was that he/she changed the IQD and got an error. Unless we have more information to go on, it's virtually impossible to help further.
