To change the package data source, you need to go into Framework Manager. As far as I know this would be a per-model change. If all the packages are published out of one model this is not too big a deal. If you have multiple models, I am not aware of anything apart from changing one at a time.

If you want to change what the named data source connects to, you would simply modify the properties in administration.

ok thank you
so the only way was to have all the datasources in 1 package.

So there is no software that can help with remapping them

thanks

A program could probably be written to do it. I am just not personally aware of any that already exist. It could be that MetaManager or other Cognos utility/add-on software packages could do it. I simply do not know myself.

If someone else knows of something, please help out maxchuie.   :)

I am a bit curious why you need to do this? Why not just modify the Cognos datasource properties you are using now? Why the need to change it in the packages?

Hi Maxchuie

Can you tell us a little more about the datasources please.  Are they database connections?

Can you give an example of what you are trying to achieve please?

Thank you
