i am nt getting in this query how to crete the dymic prompts in the where clause.

Hi,

I can see that there are prompt macros - #sq(prompt('SDate','Date','1900-01-01'))# - for example, in the where clause. These will result in prompts being generated when the SQL is executed. Can you be specific about what you are asking - are you wondering what part of the syntax results in a prompt, or how to control the prompt in your report, or something else?

I would note that I hope this is not SQL you are writing directly in a report in Report Studio. Because that is about the worst possible way to use Cognos.

It really is not clear what you are asking. What does "apply prompt macro on a qury item" mean? The prompt macros as shown in your screenshot will already filter the data.

(Please spell out your words completely, it makes it much easier to read.)
