Hi all,
This is a strange one that I've not seen before.
I initially wrote this thread due to the fact Query Studio only users could not export to Excel - nothing happens but I have since found out none of the options on the left work.
They're all hyperlinked in blue etc, but clicking them does nothing at all.
If I put that user in the report studio group, it's fine, query studio only group and nothing so I am assuming something new has come in 10.2.2 that requires the user of the options on the left?
So by options, I mean, anything under Edit Data, Change Layout, Run Report and Manage File.
Insert Data is however find.
I can't figure out if this is a bug or something I've missed but how it has not happened in the previous version I do not know (if it is permissions based).
The version I am on is 10.2.2. The same content store under 10.2.1 does not have that issue.
Thanks all

Hi,
Are you on the GA build of 10.2.2? I know there were some issues with access to Query Studio functionality in the original release. If you haven't done so already, try updating to the latest fix pack, which as of today is FP2 (released 15th July 2015).
Cheers!
MF.
Ah thats a good shout
I did go through the list earlier in the week but did not see anything that related to our issue but might just sort it or be under something else.
I am indeed on RTM
Can I assume FP2 already has FP1 fixes and there is no need to do a fp1>fp2 install?
It would be sensible to plan a path to get away from Query Studio since it is being deprecated.

Yep - FP2 contains everything in FP1 :)
Thanks MFGF - I normally am pretty hot on FP's but clearly not this time - This has fixed the issue.
Only issue it has introduced is it has killed Cognos or rather the way you get into it
for whatever reason http://server/cognos is now redirecting to
/cognos/cgi-bin/cognos.cgi?b_action=xts.run&m=portal/main.xts&startwel=yes
It should be
/cognos/cgi-bin/cognosisapi.dll?b_action=xts.run&m=portal/main.xts&startwel=yes
Already copied out the default/index from the ISAPI folder and replaced the webcontent ones. Restarted IIS/Cognos/Cache but still no go.
http://server/cognos/cgi-bin/cognosisapi.dll does however work
So this could be a fix for now and just republish this address. just annoying especially if it's something small I've missed
I know this is way off topic now so thank you for your help on this one!
Just another quick update - All seems ok with QS now
Clearly a bug with RTM
Never got around the redirect issue but I've got around it by using IIS to do some redirecting so no one is the wiser
Thanks again for your help!
