Title: How to connect Cognos 10.2.2 with Microsoft PDW (APS)
Post by: adoremars on 18 Jun 2015 08:06:08 AM
Hi All,

We are in start of a project, where in we need to connect Cognos 10.2.2 with Microsoft PDW (EDW).

Can you help me understand how to connect Cognos with Microsoft PDW? Guess we don't have a direct data source connection in Cognos.

Also, are there any know issues with Microsoft PDW when used for Cognos reporting?

Appreciate your help. Thanks..

Hi,

PDW appears to be, well, SQL Server. I have never seen it or used it, but I'd expect you would connect to it just like any other SQL Server database.

Cheers!

I know DQM is required for any queries across to the Microsoft In-Memory Tabular database. Very poor performance without DQM on the Cognos query execution path otherwise.

Were you able to create a standard sql server OLEDB data source within Cognos Connection to PDW? Was wondering if/how that is working out??

Cheers
