Title: Exporting widgets (charts) to PDF shrinks charts
Post by: CW41 on 17 Jun 2015 04:15:23 PM
Hey everyone,

Have you all encountered incidents when a user exports a widget that has a chart/graph to PDF, it shrinks the chart to such a small size that it's unreadable? I had the charts/crosstabs in a block and out of a block with the same tiny results, literally. Any thoughts on this matter?

Thanks in advance!

Hello CW41,
What version of Cognos 10 are you using? I tried to replicate it with Cognos 10.2.1, but the size of the chart that I make in the workspace(by dragging and resizing) shows up in the PDF output exactly as is.

We are running Cognos 10.2.1 right now. I found out that when exporting to PDF, when outlining the parameters Adobe likes to keep everything on one line for a parameter. At least with Excel it limits it to a particular and doesn't screw with the size of the graph. Adobe keeps going to the right thus shrinking the size of anything else on the page. I was hoping that there would be a word wrap functionality or something of the sort. The users don't want to see the parameters displayed on the widget at all. Ugh...
