Title: Cognos Theme Designer - Install Question
Post by: Robl on 09 Jun 2015 09:58:56 AM
Simple, but perhaps obvious question.

In the Theme Designed install guide it tells me to overwrite the 'webcontent' and 'vers' folders.
Do I need to do this on a clean install of Cognos on a seperate machine, or can I install this onto my live server without breaking it.

The content of those folders look very different and I really don't want to bugger the server.
The install guide isn't 100% clear.

Thanks.

Hi,

Back up the files & folders you are going to replace. I had done that installation once which worked fine. your cognos gateway is CGI or ISAPI ?

My installation is ISAPI.

I have backed up the folders.
But, I'm still unsure if replacing them with the new folders will stop the server working as a regular cognos server; or if it will continue to work as both cognos server and Theme Designer.
Looking at the content of the 'new' vers folder for example I can see very different content.
