Title: cognos distribute env - cognos request is not distributed
Post by: nagoole on 21 May 2015 08:09:00 AM
Hi All,

Currently we are working in cognos 10.2.1 v OS windows server 2008 R2 edition

we tried to execute more then 200 reports in same time but 95 % request is going for 01,02 servers just 5 % request only for other servers

Details for env

01 - 32 gb /64 bit installed CM/Application - windows server 2008 R2 Standard edition
02 - 32 gb /64 bit installed Standby CM/Application - windows server 2008 R2 Standard edition
03 - 32 gb /64 bit installed Application - windows server 2008 R2 Enterprise edition
04 - 32 gb /64 bit installed Application - windows server 2008 R2 Enterprise edition

We have verified config and parameters level for all the servers all in SYNC only

we notice 03.04 OS is enterprise compare to others dud to this the request is not going to 03/04 ? - Just want to confirm
Also what is difference between Standard and enterprise ?

Thanks
Nagoole

Looks like you have content manager and dispacther server on 01 and 02. And only dispatcher on 03,04.

So requests on 01 and 02 will be more compared to on 03,04.

Still check if anybody set routing rules in your environment.  Check if you have assigned weight to any particular server through Cognos connection.

If everything is looking fine, then try to set routing rules for 03 and 04 and check if you reports are getting executed successfully there.

Thanks sun....

Can you please send me steps to setting the routing rule ?

Want to confirm in our env we are using different version of OS edition. we observed in Prod env also whenever the requests is going for Standard edition and looks good compare to enterprise edition.

Thanks
