@ other posters. Bearing in mind that you were asked:

Quoteplz explain snapshot in brief.

Your answers were nowhere near brief enough for the original request  ;)

(.../...)

Or perhaps the OP would like to express his request a little less succinctly ... ?
@rajvivan The good people on Cognoise need much, much more detail before tackling your question...

Snapshots with respect to framework manager

Photograph, often of various Cognoise members, taken at IBM's annual conference after a session about Framework Manager.

Seriously, still not nearly enough context to understand your question. Also, why are you posting on the Report Studio board if your question has to do with Framework Manager? I've see other posts of yours on that board so I'm sure you are aware of it.

Ok. I'd have to say you seem a little confused and hugely cryptic here. Can you describe, in a few sentences or paragraphs, what you mean by this? What exactly are you looking for? What is the problem you are trying to solve or understand?

The only time I have commonly encountered the term "Snapshot" in a Cognos context is specifically for Cognos (7) Impromptu, and it refers to a file of data that Impromptu extracts from the database and creates on-disk, which can then be re-used by other Impromptu reports or catalogs. It was necessary predominantly because Impromptu catalogs could only connect to one underlying data source (but also to snapshots) so if your data was in two databases you might use it as a solution to get the required info into your report. It's absolutely not a concept or term you would find used in Cognos 10, though, since Cognos 10 metadata packages can span multiple underlying data sources.

MF.
