Title: Localization of month names
Post by: qvixote on 22 Apr 2015 09:14:41 AM
Hello!

I'm from Chile, so I make reports in spanish. My Cognos Connection and all its tools are in spanish from installation (I didn't installed it), but Transformer is in english. Till now I haven't had any problem, but today I made a cube with a time dimension, including the month level, and used the format "YYYY/MMM", but it resulted in members of the month level with names like "2015/Jan". I would like it like "2015/Ene", in spanish. I've looked up in every menu of transformer app, but didn't find any place to change the cube language.

Can anyone tell me how can I generate the time dimension with spanish names of months?

Thanks.

I am not too familiar with Transformer and non-English languages, so this is a bit of a guess. A quick look into the Transformer documentation seems to indicate that the OS locale setting has some effects. This may extend to time dimension generation. Is your locale set to Spanish? In Windows, this is set in Control Panel, in "Region and Language".

Thanks for your reply, bdbits!

Unfortunatelly, it's not the solution. The OS language have been always spanish.

Bummer. Ah well, I said it was a guess.  ???

I guess the only other option I can think of off-hand is to build a time dim table. Then you can fill it with whatever you like for display values.

Or, you might try opening a support ticket.

If you do find a way to automagically build it, let us all know here.
