Title: Adding Additional Developers to Cognos BI 10.1.2.2
Post by: gosoccer on 14 Apr 2015 11:54:50 AM
Friends,
Please HELP!!!!

We have a new Cognos BI running as a part of our Linux server. Everything is running fine using a DB2 Database
as the LDAP Authority but now, all we need is to add a new user as a developer to the Cognos BI.

Is there a way to add the user within Cognos or it has to be added to the Authority Datasource?
Are there specific parameters/privileges that the user needs to have.

Any example or document that explains adding new users to the Cognos BI world to connect to Cognos
to open reports in Report Author and use Framework Manager would be great!!!

Thank you so much for your time.

Authentication is external to Cognos. So the user has to exist in the context of that provider. Then you add them (or groups they belong to in the provider) to the roles you need them to have within Cognos.

Security is covered pretty well in the product documentation. You can start here.
