Title: Lookup Link
Post by: andy_acacia on 17 Feb 2015 08:52:14 AM
Can someone please help to confirm if it is possible to create a Look Up link that looks up across the eList in Contributor?

Further, please direct me to a useful reference guide on how to create Look Up and Accumulation links. The packaged help guide is is pretty hopeless and I havent yet found anything online that gives working examples.

Thanks in advance

You cannot do this on an analyst link.  Have you considered an admin link in contributor using an allocation table?

Thank you for the reply.

I can create a lookup link that utilises the 'eList' dim in Analyst. This is unsurprising as the dim only functions as an eList when specified as such within the CAC.
It is in Contributor that I cannot get the lookup to work.

Any reference examples greatly appreciated!

Hello Andy

I cant share any examples due to the nature of what I am working on and who I work for.

However, I have built several admin links which do this.  To point you in the right direction create a D-List of your elist items.  Then create an allocation table using this d-list on source and target.

I have taken this one step further and I have the allocation table in analyst dynamically change based on elist mappings in a "allocation" cube.  I use an analyst macro to generate the A table.

re the other request, i have not found much documentation, it has been through trial and error.
