So, I've inherited a fair bit of code, including some Cognos reports, none of which are documented at all.
When I open some of the reports, I can see that they're in the Sales folder. I can even edit the report, and if I click save, I see the folder.
However, if I go to public folders, or report studio, that folder doesn't exist.
How is it possible that the folder is hidden? It shouldn't be a permissions issue, I'm admin. And if were the other guy's myfolder, it shouldn't be under the same path as the rest of the reports, no?

Hi,
The folder is probably marked as "Hidden"? You can go to the My Preferences page and on the General tab there is an option to "Show hidden entries" - check this and see if the folder is then visible to you.
Cheers!

Wow, that was right on, the former guy left a ton of hidden folders.
Why on earth would he hide all those folders though?

To stop people from messing with the contents, perhaps? Maybe he was OCD and wanted everything to look tidy? ;)
