could you help me to give direction how to show active report variable tab (beside the toolbox tab)?
i couldn't find that tab in my report studio (Cognos BI 10.1)

It wasn't there in 10.1 :) It was added (I think) for the 10.2 release.

No - the tab just makes it easier to see all the Active Report variables in one place. Some enhancements and new features have been added since your 10.1 build - better compression of data, static repeater tables, use of visualizations etc etc, but these are not linked to having an Active Report Variables (and an Active Report Controls) tab.
