Hi,
we are using Cognos 10.2 with progress openedge 11 database. here progress database contains 2 databases like DB1 and DB2. here we created model in framework manager in below 2 ways then tested the report performance.
1) we created the model by connecting 2 databases using 2 different odbc DSN's and i applied datasource query processing property as Limited Local for both datasources.
2) we created the model by connecting 2 databases using 1 odbc DSN at a time(progress 11 had this feature). here even we using single odbc DSN also,Framework manager created 2 datasources it self. datasource 1pointed to DB1 and datasource 2 pointed to DB2. here i applied query processing property for datasouce as Database only.
now i created the reports using 2 databases tables and tested the report performance. so here we are not getting better performance with Database only (query processing) property. that means Limited Local query processing had better performance than Database only.
as per IBM if we use database processing, reports will have better performance. but am not getting like this. why it is behaving like this.
please share your thoughts.
