Title: Resolved: Cognos Planning Analyst and CAC applications are not accessible
Post by: SGD on 27 Jan 2015 09:27:21 AM
Hello All,

Cognos Planning Analyst and CAC icons are missing (or not displayed as it should be) in Start menu. Hence, user is not able to access any of those applications.

User has Admin access on the server where Planning and Analyst applications are installed. Also, user is a member of 'Planning Rights Administrators' Cognos group.

What could be the possible reason user is not able to see icons in start menu? How user can access both the applications? Is there any work around?

Usually it's because another user dragged the menu options onto their desktop, which makes them stored by profile (user).  Search the desktop profiles of all users and you're bound to find the links.  You can also just create shortcuts yourself and drag them back onto the menu (though this too is by profile)

User's windows profile was corrupted on the Server and by fixing registry values (by Server Admin team) issue got resolved.
