Title: How to list out all Name spaces,Querysubjects,Query item names in Cognos Package

Hi Folks,

I need a small help ....We are going to work on around 10+ packages and there are more than 15 name spaces 100 plus query subjects in each package.We are very new to this Business domain when we try to search a column.. its taking too much time to go through each package and query subject. Packages have been developed by onshore team and there is no proper documentation.

I was wondering is there any way to to list out All Names spaces,Query Subjects,Query Items Names in a packages .


Can some body help us on this ?

I am not aware of any way to do that out-of-the-box. 3rd-party tools like our host's MetaManager probably have something.

You can ask your Framework Manager modelers to produce a model report in XML and then import it into Excel. It gives a whole lot of information but you can pare it back to just the elements you are interested in.
