Title: Cognos 8.4.1 Analyst add-in with Excel 2013?
Post by: jeffowentn on 23 Jan 2015 12:44:58 PM
Does anyone know if it is possible to get the Analyst Add-In for Cognos 8.4.1 (FP2) to work with MS Excel 2013?

These are the two error messages we receive:

VB Error 440 in Analyst_XLA.Analyst_StartCubeWizard at 160: Could not logon. Please ensure you can access Cognos Connection using the Gateway URI specified in Cognos Configuration.

VB Error 440 in Analyst_XLA.Analyst_Logon at 140: Could not logon. Please ensure you can access Cognos Connection using the Gateway URI specified in Cognos Configuration.

No takers, huh?  Has no one else tried running 8.4.1 Cognos Planning on MS Excel 2013?

I guess my only option is to request the user to back down off of MS Excel 2013, then...

I might have thought someone would have tried this on Excel 2013, but I guess not...

Sadly I have neither Planning 8.4.1 nor Excel 2013 :)

The Software Environments page for Planning 8.4.1 shows Excel 2007 as the most recent supported version

https://www-304.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27018542

Even the latest build - 10.1.1 - shows support only as far as Excel 2010

Thanks, MF.

I've checked that info, but that doesn't necessarily mean someone hasn't figured out a way to make it work.  :)

I appreciate the feedback, though.
