Hi All,
Can we use date prompt with Edit option in Report Studio on date dimension in Cognos 10.2.1, where as my datasource is SSAS Cube? Actually when I tried to create a date prompt in report studio by dragging a date prompt and tried pointing the date prompt to date dimension, I am getting a pop saying "prompt is not compatible"? Is there any way I can achieve the above requirement?
Any ideas or suggestions are much appreciated?
Thanks & Regards,
XYZ

Hi,
If your underlying source is a cube, chances are you are not dealing with dates at all - you are dealing with members. The members might look like they represent dates, but under the covers they are identified by a MUN (Member Unique Name) so they are entirely different from database columns with a date or datetime data type (which is what date prompts are designed to work with).
Can you explain what you are trying to achieve?
Cheers!
MF.
Hi MFGF,
Thanks for the reply, actually I have a SSAS cube as a datasource, we should have a date prompt with edit option, which has to display in the global area of a workspace based on the selection of date prompt other widgets in workspace has to get filtered based on date prompt.
Thanks & Regards,
XYZ

SSAS cubes have members, not relational dates, so you're not going to be able to use date prompts which are designed to operate on relational date columns.
