We recently upgraded Cognos to 10.2.1.
Everything is okay with this version except for one feature in report studio.
I'm using relational package, for the sake of this example just one table: Dim Time. Let's say I have 2 query items in the report, Fiscal Year and Month Name. I need to create 2 filters, one for fiscal year and another one for month.
In 10.1, I create first filter: [Fiscal Year]='FY 2014-15'
Then I type the second filter: "[Month Name] in ", then I highlight [Month Name] in the "Available Components" and click 'Select Multiple Values'. I'm getting a list of months filtered on the values of the first filter I've created. The list contains months from April 2014 until March 2015. Please see the attached image.
In Cognos 10.2, I'm following the same steps, but I'm getting a list of all available months from Dim Time. First filter doesn't seem to pre-filter the values when I create the second filter.
Did IBM get rid of this functionality in 10.2 or is it turned off by default and should be 'activated' somehow?

10.2.1 does not have any such limitation as you describe. It does not filter the values of the 2nd item based on the filter of the 1st item but.. when 10.2.1 came out it had a bunch of issues. Did you apply any fix packs or is it only 10.2.1 ? When was it downloaded from IBM site?
Thanks cognostechie! it's just 10.2.1, was downloaded from IBM site in the end of September. no, i haven't applied any fix packs... i'll check what fix packs are available on IBM site...

I just installed Cognos 10.2.1 fix pack 5. The 'pre-filter' feature is still missing, eventhough I found it in the fix list...
Any ideas?
