I have installed the IBM Cognos Business Intelligence 30 trial from http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/downloads/im/cognosbi/
This installed without any errors. However when I try and open the trial version using the IBM Cognos BI link placed in my start menu by the install I get the following error show below. Does anybody know how to fix this. The trial version does not appear to have the concept of Cognos Configuration as with the full version.
Your help is appreciated.
HTTP Status 404 - /p2pd/servlet/dispatch
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
type Status report
message /p2pd/servlet/dispatch
description The requested resource (/p2pd/servlet/dispatch) is not available.

Apache Tomcat/6.0.35

It looks to me like the auto config failed somewhere. The appropriate URL ought to be http://<servername>:<port>/p2pd/servlet/dispatch
Although the regular Cognos Configuration is not immediately visible, it's still there under the covers. It might be helpful if you fire it up manually and see how the gateway/dispatcher URIs are configured. Go to <install location>\bin64 (or bin) and fire up cogconfigw.exe. Take a look in the Environment section at the Fateway URI and the Dispatcher URI for gateway - what are they set to?
MF.
Thanks MF
I opened Configuration manager and found it was complaining about "cryptographic information cannot be encrypted."
I decided to uninstall and reinstall unfortunately this has caused the cogconfigw.exe to disappear.
This is a 30 day trail of my patients.
Thanks you for help we have purchased C10 and will wait full the full install.

Oh dear. Sounds very frustrating! If you grab the new download for 10.2.2 once your purchase goes through, install has been made much simpler (I believe).
Cheers!
