Title: Prompt Page List Select All By Default
Post by: craigalaniz on 05 Nov 2014 11:43:19 AM
Good Day

We have a list on a prompt page where "Select all" is the default and every item in the list is automatically selected. The problem is that we can not figure out what we did to make this happen. Also, for some reason only one entry is not selected by default. This list is populated by a Cognos query.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Craig

Is it possible the defaults are defined in the properties of the report in Cognos Connection? (Properties > Report tab)

MF.

Hello craigalaniz,
I am assuming by List you meant a Listbox prompt. If Yes, please check the "default selections" property of the listbox in report studio. You should see a lot of values "typed-in" there except for the one that is not selected.

Hi All

Thanks for the replies. I talked to IBM support and here is the solution they gave me.

In the workspace, we had "select all" selected by default when the workspace was opened. When a new value was added to the database, all were selected except the new value.

To fix this we

1. Opened the workspace and manually selected all to get all values including the previous one that was not selected by default.
2. Ran the workspace to update the report.
3. Saved the workspace. The next time we opened the work space, all values where selected by default.

Thanks

Craig
