I'm working on a Sales Planning model with three D-Lists (Dates, Customers, Items). Currently, all D-List values have been hard coded. Is there a way to link a D-List to, for instance, my products table and automatically add any new products to my D-List? I don't want to manually make modifications to my D-List when a new product is added.
Also, does anyone know of a way where I can use the existing relationship between the items I sell to each customer so that my salesmen aren't seeing items which they don't sell?
Thanks!
1. D-list Import Links + Update (remove Obsolete) -- see help for details on setting it up. You can automate i via macro in Analyst attached to products table update trigger.
2. Automate Access-Table (Contributor) creation via Import\Export of text files.
Thanks. You've been a big help. If I could just ask another question. My model is now complete and I'd like to be able to create a PP cube against it. I've published the data using the "view layout" option. Is this the optimal method, or am I missing something?
Thanks!
Table layout is way better (faster and more reliable), view layout still stays just for backward compatibility (it was the only option in Adaytum 3.0).
You can try installing EP 8.2 where there is an option of direct creating powerplay models&cubes on contributor and analyst cubes.
