There are obviously some major differences as a result of unix being a different environment altogether from Windows. Will you be installing on a machine with X-Windows available or via the unix command line? The X-install is more similar to MS windows, but installing via the command line is radically different. You will also need to make sure your user ID used to do the install has root privileges, or at least permissions to create daemons and modify some of the unix control files. You will need to understand how to review and if necessary change permissions in unix. You will need to determine how to connect to your content store and your reporting databases - many unix platforms do not support ODBC connections, for instance.

Take a look at the Installation and Configuration Guide to see the steps for installing on various flavours of unix.

Good luck!
