Title: The statement is too long or too complex - Not a Database issue.
Post by: JeffBaines on 30 Sep 2014 09:44:13 AM
Hi folks,

First post and I am pulling my hair out over this issue. I have three separate Cognos Servers Dev/Test/Prod and I'm getting the following error on my test server - The statement is too long or too complex. SQLSTATE=54001.

I originally thought it was a DB2 issue however so I contacted the DBA's and all the database environments have the exact same settings.

I then tried the following

Dev Server > Dev Database - runs fine
Dev Server > Test Database - runs fine
Dev Server > Prod Database - runs fine
Test Server > Test Database - error
Test Server > Prod Database - error
Prod Server > Prod Database - runs fine

Now I've looked through all the settings in the Cognos Web Administration and they are a like for like copy of Dev/Prod.

I now have no clue what could be causing the issue. Can anybody help me out with this?

The DB2 client installed on each server also has some configuration options. I do not know if that is where the problem lies, but it is something else you can check.
