Title: "Standard" Cognos Sample data packages?
Post by: JBCLARK20 on 11 Sep 2014 09:30:00 AM
Is there a single standard set of Cognos sample data packages and cubes in Cognos 10.2? I have encountered issues where our installed sample packages are similar but not exactly the same in to those used in sample reports from training materials, IBM documentation and Cognoise.
If there is a standard set of sample data and if so where can I get a list of the sample objects? My intent is to compare what we have currently installed with what ever the current standard may be and get our system up to the standard. Thank you.

Samples are released with each major install of Cognos 10. The samples for 10.1, for example, may be different from the samples for 10.2.1. Your safest bet is to download and install the version of the samples relevant to the version of the Cognos install you are using. Generally the dates get rolled forwards, but sometimes there can be other changes too.

Cheers!

MF.

Thank you, we have an upgrade to 10.2.1.2 coming up and I will request a complete install of all the latest/greatest samples.
