Hi,

Does someone have a sample or documentation on how to automate IQD file creation using the cognos 8 sdk.

I am a newbie and may not fully understand the concept. All I know is that there is a way to generate IQD files in FM when defining the Query Subject properties and that IQD file contain the data definition, hence is necessary to create the cubes. Is it still the case in cognos 8 ?

Is there a way in c8 to make it constant even after I modified the Query Subject in FM or generated a new version of the package ?

Sorry to ask all these newbie questions but I need to understand how it functions.

You can generate IQDs by changing the Externalize Method property of any Query Subject to iqd, then publishing the package. However, IQD is just a text file, one can create using NOTEPAD.
